Online psychological counseling, via zoom, is available for people over 18 and in the field of individual therapy.

PROCEDURES

The online appointment is always scheduled taking into account the time in mainland Portugal. The first session lasts 90 minutes and the following sessions 60 minutes.

CONFIDENTIALITY

The International Society for Mental Health Online (ISMHO) and the American Psychological Association (APA) frame international psychology consultations in legal terms.

Psychologists are governed by the principles of the Code of Ethics of the Order of Portuguese Psychologists (link available). The online psychological counseling service respects professional ethics, and the standards of clinical practice, being absolutely confidential.

It is not allowed to record the psychology session online, either by the psychologist or by the client. The disclosure of any information resulting from recording, may constitute a reason for investigation and subsequent referral to Court.

SOFTWARE AND HARDWARET

To receive this online psychology service, you must have access to a computer with internet connection (with quality and reliability) and be in an appropriate place that allows the physical conditions of security, privacy and confidentiality to be guaranteed. Check the webcam and sound quality before the session. By meeting these conditions it avoids failures that may compromise the use of the Skype call during the online consultation. In case it is not possible to perform the psychology service online for technical reasons, there is the possibility of rescheduling without additional costs.

CANCELLATION AND REDEMPTION POLICY

If it is not possible to use the online psychology service at the scheduled time, previously, the online psychological monitoring session can be rescheduled if this change is communicated 24 hours in advance.

PAYMENTS

Payment for the online consultation must be made until the day before the consultation.
